Abstract

226,676. Goldsbrough, R. E. Dec. 28, 1923. Addition to 215,801. Vaporizing-apparatus.-A device for supplying a mixture, of liquid fuel and steam or air to the burner of the parent Specification comprises a mixing chamber d fitted with two spaced nozzles a for fuel and steam or air and a central nozzle b for steam or air only. The nozzles a each consist of a cylinder d having an apertured coned end e and containing a piston member r which is formed with a central passage z and is engaged by an adjustable spring 2. Fuel and steam or air are supplied at approximately the same pressure to opposite sides of the piston members r through pipes j, i fitted with control valves n, m which are operable simultaneously by means of a hand-wheel q. When a valve 8 controlling the central nozzle b is opened the steam or air pressure on the members r is relieved and the members r move under the influence of the fuel pressure to increase the fuel discharge into the mixing chamber.
