601,887. Fuel economisers. JORDAN, J. Oct. 10, 1945, No. 26426. [Class 126] A fuel economiser in the form of a basket 1 for containing slack is supported above the ordinary burning fuel C in the fireplace by feet 2 resting on side firebricks 3 and is wider at the top than at the bottom so that the front wall 4 projects forwardly over the fuel C. The basket is built up of front, back and end plates of cast or wrought iron secured together by bolts, the front and back plates 4, 5 being slotted at 15, 16 and the end plates 6, 6<1>, which converge from front to rear to fit the fireplace opening, are formed integral with the feet 2.
