603,057. External flues and settings of steam boilers. HARVEY, T. W. H. Nov. 19, 1945, No. 30944. [Class 123(ii)] A Lancashire boiler 1 is fitted at its front end, Figs. 1 and 3, with a circumferential wing plate 8, which extends therearound the whole length of the boiler setting 4 and over the top of the usual blow-off-recess 7, and at its rear end, Fig. 4, with a pair of side rearwardly- and downwardlyextending wing-plates 15, said wing plates 8, 15 engaging like slots or recesses 10, 17 respectively which are provided in the boiler setting and are adapted to be packed with asbestos wool, &c., 12. The wing plates are mounted on angle irons 5, 14 bolted or otherwise secured to the boiler shell.
