Abstract

173,344. Wineberg, F. M. Oct. 7, 1920. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Grates; fuel economizers.-In grates in which the bottom or false bottom is provided with upstanding pillars or pegs which support the fuel so that a large surface is exposed to the air, thepegs 2 are formed on bars 3 which are detachably connected to the grate bottom 1 by means of lugs 4 which engage slots 5. The pegs may be of increasing height from front to rear; they may be joined in pairs, as indicated at 6; or they may be bent at their upper ends. In a modification, bars carrying horizontal pegs are similarly attached to a back grate.
