The screen has hinged at its upper end an ornamented flap 5 with handles 6, and with a tail-piece 7 which supports the upraised flap in a horizontal position, in which it serves as a utensilsupport, when the notched end 8 is engaged with the lower edge of the slot through which it passes. The screen 1 may form part of an ashpan 9, and may have air-inlets therein.
