Cooking-stoves.-In a modification of the stove described in Specification 24210/14, which comprises, beneath an oven c and above a fire-grate a, a swinging back-plate m pivoted at its upper end, the sliding fire-cover g, g<1>, when pushed back, raises the rear fire-cover i and causes a latch j to engage with the lower edge of the back-plate m and to lift it from engagement with catches v. The plate m then swings forward to the position m<2>, and projections n lift the openfire damper o to the open position shown in dotted lines. As it rises, the damper o, by means of levers &c. q, r, s, moves a rear flue damper t to the horizontal position, so that the combustion products rise from the fire and pass through the oven bottom and rear flues e, f. When the cover g, g' is drawn forwards and the plate m is pushed back, the gases pass under and over the boiler b, up the rear flue d, and through the oven bottom and side flues.
