Abstract

Cooking-ranges. - A Yorkshire-type range is provided with two grates which may be used independently or simultaneously, t h e lower grate, used for heating purposes, being of the barless type and the upper grate, used for cooking purposes, consisting of a removable fuel - basket and being situated adjacent to the oyenflue. The barless grate J is supported by two side standards A situated one on each side of the grate cavity and secured to the stool G by hooked-pieces E. The upper fuel-basket Q rests on a pivoted and removable grid or fall-crow L, and when in position is situated to one side of the fire-place, thus permitting combustion products from the lower fire to escape direct to the chimney. The fallcrow L may be turned to rest against the back of the grate when the fuel-basket Q is not in use.
