Abstract
457,744. Water-tube steam boilers ; fireboxes. SPANNER, E. F., 13, Shooters Hill Road, Blackheath, London. July 3, 1936, No. 18476. [Class 123 (ii)] The vertical cvlindrical plate A of thimble tube boilers or water heaters is attached to an upwardly dished furnace plate C having the whole or a large part of its downwardly curved outer part returned upwards at the edge D so that its junction with the outer shell E forms a U-shaped trough. An embodiment with a surrounding bunker for coke fed by gravity to the grate is rectangular in plan and has outwardly curving opposite sides and a channellike furnace plate.
