Abstract
308,114. Sentinel Waggon Works, Ltd., and Woodvine, G. May 21, 1928. Vertical boilers.-In a boiler having a central firebox 20 fitted with cross water tubes 21 and an outer shell 10 forming an annular water space around the firebox, all the cross water tubes lie parallel to one another in superposed rows the tubes being progressively spaced more closely together in the rows in the direction towards the top of the firebox. The stoking aperture 23 is arranged laterally of the water tubes. The surround 24 of the aperture is riveted to the firebox and is secured to the outer shell by nuts and bolts 27. The firebox is secured to the outer shell at the top and bottom by nuts and bolts 17, 18. Specification 213,682 is referred to in the Provisional Specification.
