Abstract
<PICT:0600619/IV(b)/1> A plant for producing acetylene and delivering it to a point or points of use comprises a low pressure generator a, a compressor m receiving acetylene from the generator and delivering it to a manifold o having a plurality of dissolved acetylene containers p connected thereto, a pipe line s from said manifold to the point or points of use, and a pressure regulating valve means q in said pipe line. In a modification, the compressor delivers the acetylene to two manifolds arranged in parallel, each manifold having a plurality of dissolved acetylene containers connected thereto, and the arrangement is such that while one set of containers is being charged the other set is available for discharge through its manifold and pressure regulating valve to the pipe line. The plant may include also a water seal c, washer d, purifier e, gas holder f, low pressure drier k, pulsometer l, high pressure drier n, and flash-back arrester r.
