[Also in Group XI] A gas turbine liquid fuel system of the kind including a plurality of burner nozzles f mounted either on a vertical feed tube a or on an annular feed tube disposed in a vertical plane comprises a tube b containing a pressure-compensating liquid, valves for controlling the rates of supply of fuel to the burners and means in association with each valve responsive to the liquid pressures at two points at the same level in the feed and compensating tubes for actuating the valve. Each valve is mounted in a chamber c divided by a partition c<SP>1</SP> into two compartments one of which is connected to the fuel tube a and to one of the burners and the other to a point at the same level in the compensating tube b. Each valve comprises a closure member g co-operating with the fuel entrance to the chamber c and carried on one end of a lever h pivoted in a sealed aperture in the partition c<SP>1</SP>. The other end of the lever bears on a flexible diaphragm d extending across the compartment connected to the compensating tube, one side of the diaphragm being acted on by the liquid in the compen. sating tube. In a modification a flexible diaphragm extending across a chamber is in contact on one side with the compensating liquid, and on the other side with the liquid feed and the diaphragm carries a valve closure member co-operating with the end of a pipe supplying feed to one of the burners.
