[Also in Group XXVIII] The air intake to the compressor of a turbojet engine has as part of its wall a divergent jet 6 of a gas supplied at 5 (for example from the air compressor of the engine) and issuing from an annular nozzle 3, thus enabling reduction of energy losses due to skin effects at high velocities.
