Abstract
587,126. Gas turbines. ELLIOTT, A. G. June 26, 1944, No. 12144. [Class 110 (iii)] [Also in Group XXXIII] In jet-propulsion plant for aircraft, extra air inlets are provided for use during take-off. In one embodiment, the extra air inlets 47 are situated in the nacelle in staggered relationship to the combustion chambers 22. In another, they are situated up-stream from the compressor. In another, which utilizes a single entry compressor, the extra air inlets are upstream and the air is brought to the compressor by ducts which deliver to segments of the inlet between the segments receiving the main air supply. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 579,657, [Group XXXIII].
