Abstract

<PICT:0860902/IV (b)/1> Prior to being charged into acetonefilled storage containers, acetylene gas is saturated with acetone vapour by admitting the gas through a duct 2, valve 4, check valve 5 and flasharrestor 6 into the lower end of a Raschig ring filled tower 1 supplied with acetone through a conduit 14 from a pair of feed chambers 15, 19 connected by a duct 16 to an acetone storage vessel 18; liquid acetone being separated from the mixture in a chamber connected at its base to the outlet duct 3 of the tower 1 and having valved outlet ducts 12, 13 connected to the storage cylinders 241, Fig. 3 (not shown, see Group XXVIII).
