Abstract

627,108. Spraying fusible materials. DURDEN, F. W. April 9, 1947, No. 9387. [Class 69 (iii)] Apparatus of the type wherein powder is conveyed from a container to a spraying pistol by pneumatic means, has the powder injector 4 situated apart from the pistol P and between the pistol and the powder container C so that the powder is conveyed by suction to the injector 4 via the pipe 5 and by air pressure from the injector to the pistol via the pipe 3. Oxygen and one of the usual gases are conveyed to the pistol burner by means of pipes 1 and 2. Air inlet to the pipe 5 is controlled by means of a valve 11 and the container C may be vibrated by electrical or pneumatic means to assist the flow of powder into the suction line.
