Abstract
597,499. Electromagnetic ammeters and voltmeters. BUTLER, Ltd., H., and BUTLER, H. Aug. 22, 1945, No. 21447. [Class 37] In a moving iron measuring instrument, the magnet controlling the zero position of the instrument pointer is carried by the coil bobbin of the instrument. As shown, a bar magnet 29 is secured by bent-over flanges 28 of a bracket 25 fixed to the rear of a bobbin 14 within which is pivoted a moving iron 16. Two pairs of fixing holes 26, 27 are provided in the bracket 25 in order to position the magnet 29 in either of two ways corresponding to end and central zero respectively of the instrument scale formed on a dial plate 19. Two lugs, Fig. 5 (not shown), integral with the bobbin 14 serve to secure it to the back of the dial plate 19.
