Abstract
594,016. Fluid-actuated byepass valves. LUCAS, Ltd., J., and IFIELD, R. J. March 23, 1945, No. 7403. [Class 135] A valve for byepassing, e.g. a throttle q in a liquid fuel supply line, comprises a hollow body a containing a blower-air chamber e and a fuel chamber k separated by a diaphragm f, the fuel chamber having inlet and outlet connections b, c respectively. Attached to the diaphragm is a piston h and a piston closure member p sliding in a ported sleeve o to control the inlet, the closure member being moved to its closed position by fuel pressure acting on the piston and closed by a spring g and/or blowerair pressure through the connection n. The closure member p has an -orifice and forms a dashpot with a closed extension of the sleeve.
