Abstract

593,058. Carding-engines. WEBER, J. June 4, 1945, No. 14003. [Class 120 (i)] A flat carding-engine is characterized by the provision of two bands of flats 5 situated between the licker-in 3 and the doffer 4, the operative surface of the band nearest the lickerin moving in the opposite direction to the main cylinder 2, while the operative surface of the other band moves in the same direction as the main cylinder. The flats 5 nearest the doffer 4 may be driven from the cylinder shaft 12 by belt 14, drive being conveyed to the other set of flats via gear wheels 16, 17. Both bands of flats may be supported by rollers 6, 7.
