Abstract
592,612. Automatic firearms. LIPPERT, H., and MUHLEMANN, E. Oct. 19, 1945, No. 27594. Addition to 592,611. [Class 92 (ii)] The invention of the parent Specification is now modified by providing, in each of the holes 13 at the ends of the grooves 12 which guide the locking bolt 9, a slanting face 14 so designed as to start the locking movement of the bolt, and with a further slanting face 16 with which the ends of the bolt contact when rotated to the locked position, the ends of the bolt having recesses 18 in which a shoulder 17 on the rear part of the breech-block engages in the locked position. On firing, a rearward movement is given to the rear part of the breech-block to disengage the shoulders from the recesses 18, and the residual gas pressure on the front part of the block acting on the slanting faces 16 rotates the bolt to the unlocked position.
