Abstract
535,570. Automatic guns. VIALE, S. M. Feb. 23, 1939.No.6083. [Class 92 (ii)] Relates to breech actions for automatic or semi - automatic guns in which the breech block 11 is locked by struts 16 pivoted to the block and engaging abutments 15 on the barrel extension 13 under the influence of a cam member 26 attached to the action slide 21. According to the invention, the cam member is freely slidable laterally in the slide 21 to equalize its action on the struts. The abutments are formed by cylindrical insertions having an inclined or slightly cylindrical abutment face 20, the face of the strut being similarly shaped so that the force of the explosion tends to move the struts to unlocking position.
