Abstract

567,230. Automatic guns. LANCHESTER, G. H., and SOMERS, A. E. April 24, 1941, No. 5316. [Class 119] A press-button latch for retaining the box magazine 12 in the magazine socket passes through and acts as a dowel to secure the ejector within the socket. In the form shown, a pressbutton magazine latch 23, Fig. 4, has a spindle 20 which carries the latching member 18, and passes through and retains the ejector 14 Fig. 3, which is attached by a stud 14c to the magazine socket 17 on the gun. The breech-bolt 3 is cut to straddle the magazine mouth in the closed position of the breech and to accommodate the extractor 4.
