<PICT:0592503/IV/1> <PICT:0592503/IV/2> In an apparatus for blowing steam through a textile fabric, the latter is fed between heated pressing members and steam under pressure is directed on to the top surface of the cloth at the entry between the pressing members. The latter comprise a cylinder A, Fig. 1, and a concave bed B which constitutes the platen of a hydraulic press, or two or more cylinders or rollers, any or all of which may be heated by steam. A steam pipe D containing a line of nipples extends across the cylinder A at the nip where the cloth C enters between the cylinder A and the bed B. Each of the nipples consists of a tube D1, Fig. 3, fitted with a core D2 which is capable of moving under the action of the steam to keep the bore of the tube D1 clear. On leaving the members A, B, the cloth C is cooled by passing under the mouthpiece J of a suction pipe K which draws cold air through the cloth.
