Abstract

<PICT:0716708/IV(c)/1> <PICT:0716708/IV(c)/2> <PICT:0716708/IV(c)/3> An improvement in or modification of the invention set forth in the parent Specification in which apparatus for use in dyeing textile material 1 in continuous length with aqueous dye liquor 8 in heated condition, comprise a bath 7 for the dye liquor means for preheating the textile (Figs. 2 and 3) immediately prior to impregnation with the dye liquor, to a temperature which on impregnation results in a textile temperature in said liquor of the order of 80 DEG C. to 95 DEG C. After leaving the bath any excess dye liquor is returned in unexhausted condition to the dye bath by means of the doctor blades 10 or by nip rollers or by means of differential gas pressure devices. In order to complete the dyeing operation the fabric may be passed through a steam chamber 26.
