Abstract

<PICT:0692236/IV (c)/1> <PICT:0692236/IV (c)/2> Bales 28 of mechanically-crimped fibres (see Group IX) are mounted on a trolley 30 and run into a tank 31 (Fig. 2) containing a setting solution 32 (which may include a dye) which is circulated by an impeller 33 and maintained at an appropriate temperature by steam pipes 34, or into a steam chamber 40, the temperature and pressure within which may be controlled.
