Abstract

961,652. Ironing presses. KANNEGIESSER & CO. MASCHINENFABRIK G. m. b. H. Jan. 24, 1963 [March 27, 1962], No. 3133/63. Heading D1A. A trouser press has a padded two-part shaping body 11,12 for each trouser leg 10, the two parts 11, 12 being relatively displaceable to stretch the leg, and there being a pair of padded pressing plates 13, 14 for each body 11, 12. The parts 11, 12 are of "knife-edge" construction at 19, 18 for the leg creases and are padded. The longitudinal seams 16 of each leg 10 are situated against the padding on the parts 11. Steam is supplied to the trousers through perforated chambers inside the parts 11 and 12 and from external perforated pipes 24. The pressing plates 13, 14 have suction means, and permeable padding 15 of a different resilience from that of the parts 11. The plates 13, 14 have castellated edges 21 which abut during pressing to limit the compression of the padding and yet allow air to enter from outside. The parts 11, 12 are mounted on a trolley by means of which they can be wheeled between the plates 13, 14.
