Abstract

1,033,132. Garment presses. WESTON LAUNDRY MACHINE CO. Ltd. July 22, 1963 [July 25, 1962], No. 28665/62. Heading D1A. An ironing press for garments such as shirts has dressing stations 2, 4 on the sides of a pressing cabinet 6 for two hollow bucks 8 and 10 respectively A shirt 17 is held in position on a buck by clips 18, 20, 24 and stretcher bars 22 (Fig. 3, not shown). The two bucks are mounted upon wheels running on tracks 16 and are connected by a bar 12 so that when one is moved into the pressing cabinet the other is moved out to its dressing station. The front and back of the shirt are ironed by two steamheated plates 54 (Fig. 5, not shown) while the sleeves, sides and yoke are ironed by heated air blown into the interior of the buck from a blower 90 and heat exchanger 92 and escaping through suitably arranged perforations. The movements of the bucks are effected by a hydraulic cylinder 38 acting through rack and pinion 42, 44 and a chain and sprocket 48, 46.
