Abstract
940,432. Ironing presses. KANNEGIESSER & CO. MASCHINENFABRIK G.m.b.H. Oct. 12, 1960 [Nov. 20, 1959], No. 34919/60. Heading D1A. Apparatus for pressing coat-like garments comprises sleeve-supporting members 12, 12a which can be displaced relative to one another to enable both sleeves of the garment to be placed thereon and then returned to a position conforming to the normal pattern of the garment, co-operating members 23, 24, 23a, 24a being provided for pressing the sleeve portions of the garment. In Fig. 3 the sleeve members 12, 12a are shown in dotted lines in the loading position and in full lines in the position ready for pressing. The sleeve members are mounted on a support 11 which can be moved into and out of the pressing machine 10 and are pivotable about axles 13 by a fluid pressure operated cylinder through linkage seen in Fig.4 (not shown). The pressing members 23, 23a are connected by a pressing shoe 22 for collar and shoulder regions. The whole assembly 22, 23, 23a is suspended by springs 27 and moved to pressing position by a pressure cylinder 28. The pressing members 24, 24a are operated by pressure cylinders 26, 26a through linkage 25, 25a. The sleeve members 12,12a are provided with stretching fins 17,17a articulated at 19 and subject to the action of a spring 18 and a pressure cylinder 20. In a modification the sleeve members 12, 12a are movable from an in-line position (Fig. 8 not shown) to the loading position (Fig. 9) by means of pressure cylinders and cam slots 29 engaged by rods 30 which support the sleeve members.
