Abstract

1,127,353. Garment pressing machines. A. W. SWAIN. 11 July, 1967 [20 July, 1966; 11 Oct., 1966], Nos. 32518/66 and 45369/66. Heading F4G. [Also in Divisions A3 and D1] A machine for supporting garments during manufacture or steam pressing comprises upper and lower counterbalanced supports 10, 12 interconnected so as to be movable in opposite directions, so that the machine can accommodate different sized items. The mountings of the supports are interconnected by a chain 100 that may be locked in any desired position. The locking mechanism advances the chain sufficiently to stress the garment. The bottom of the garment is held by supports 34 and clamps 32 and the lapels may be clamped by a press 48. The upper support is interchangeable and may have adjustable shoulder supports 44.
