Abstract

592,020. Transformers. HARDERN, H. W., and METROPOLITAN-VICKERS ELECTRICAL CO., Ltd. March 28, 1945, No. 7851. [Class 38 (ii)] A three-limbed magnetic core structure comprises laminations of rolled strip magnetic material with diagonal buttjoints with overlap as between layers at the main outer corners, as disclosed in Specifications 550,191, 554,000, 571,796, and 579,467, and has rectangular buttjoints with overlap at the junctions between the middle limb and the yokes. Fig. 2 shows an economical method of cutting a strip to form the lamination layer, shown in Fig. 1. Also described are economical ways of cutting strips to form cores having the yokes of different width from the limbs.
