586,627. Drawing frames; sliver guides. MACKIE & SONS, Ltd., J., and MACKIE, J. P. Dec. 22, 1944, No. 25784. [Class 120 (i)] A conductor for guiding slivers of flax and like fibres to drawing rollers co-operates with pair of coaxial pressing rollers 5, providing a large opening to facilitate the insertion of a new sliver. An arcuate bridge piece 3 resting on the drawing roller 4 is formed with sliver grooves 10. Upward side extensions 1 hook over a rod 7 and are joined by a cross bar 2. The conductor is located laterally by lugs 9 which overlap the pressing rollers. The side extensions 1 may slot into rod 7 instead of hooking thereon.
