Abstract
362,199. Scutching flax &c. PARET, H., 30, Rue TraversiÞre, Bruges, Belgium. Jan. 3, 1931, No. 298. Convention date, June 19, 1930. [Class 120 (i).] In a machine for scutching flax and like stalks, in order to turn the stalks over between successive scutching drums to expose the previously non-scutched portion x<11> the guide channel 10, Figs. 3 and 4, for the conveying belt 12, is interrupted between the drums, the pressure bar 15, Fig. 1, is tapered to end at 28 and the left-hand wall of the guide-channel is ended at 29, the scutched fibres x<1> being brought up to the horizontal on an oblique guide bar 31, Fig. 2, and the end guided above the belt 12 by the helical portion 33, passing thence under the second pressure bar 15<1>. The bar 15<1> provides a tapered entrance 34 while the non-scutched ends x<11> are guided by a guide-way 36.
