Abstract
397,480. Drawing-frames. LEFEBVRE, H., 262, Rue Jouffroy, Roubaix, Nord, France. Feb. 22, 1932, No. 5292. Convention date, Feb. 21, 1931. [Class 120 (i).] In a method of forming a uniform lap or roving from a large quantity of slivers wherein the slivers are doubled to form a thick mass of uniform section and the fibres therein are parallelized during a single passage through drawing means, the drawing means comprises five, six, seven or eight successive pairs of fluted drawing rollers which energetically nip the mass while subjecting the fibres therein to progressive drawing actions. The slivers R from cans P are assembled in the form of a thick lap N on a table A of V or other shape, the lap N passing forward between compression rollers J, J<1> and a succession of five, six, seven or eight pairs of drawing rollers 1, 1<1> .. 6, 6<1> being narrowed by guides g, G and the resulting web V passing through a guide S, funnel E, calender rollers C, C' and a guide tube to a can Q.
