Abstract
583,094. Feedwater regulators for steam boilers. ARMSTRONG, C.M.C. Nov. 12, 1943, No. 5357/44. Divided out of 561,404. [Class 123 (ii)] The supply of feed water to a boiler is controlled in accordance with the mean water level in the latter by a regulator which comprises an expansion tube having upper and lower ends 1, 4, respectively connected to the steam space of the boiler and to the water space at one end of said boiler, and an openended tube 9, located within the expansion tube with its lower end connected to the water space at the other end of the boiler and its upper end 17 opening above the normal boiler high water level line x-x. A tube 12 extends from a flanged bushing 13 at the upper end of the expansion tube to surround the latter and has its lower end 14 connected by an arm 15 to a regulator valve operating lever 16 which is fulcrummed on a fitting 5 at the lower end of said expansion tube.
