581,699. Thermally-actuated valves. LAMBERT, L. W., and TARRY, H. Jan. 28, 1944, No. 1596. [Class 135] A mixing valve for hot and cold liquids comprises a body 10 having inlets 11 and 12 for connection respectively to the hot and cold supplies that lead to ports 17 and 16 on either side of a central partition 15 in a tubular member 14 upon which slides a sleeve valve 19. A thermostat 22, containing grease or wax, is screwed into the body 10 and a pin 21 engages an arm 20 on the valve'19. The thermostat responds to the temperature in the mixing chamber 18 and adjusts the valve 19 to maintain a constant temperature at the outlet 13, by adjusting the position of the thermostat in the body 10, this temperature may be varied.
