Abstract
580,964. Electric resonators. BARFORD, N. C. Sept. 7, 1943, No. 14684. [Class 40 (iii)] A hollow electrical resonator is tuned by means of a vane capable of angular movement about an axis parallel or tangential to the lines of the magnetic field set up when the resonator is excited. In an elongated resonator, Figs. 1, 2, having a pair of elongated apertures 5 for the passage of a ribbon-shaped electron beam as described in Specification 574,512, a pair of vanes 6 are arranged parallel to the apertures and on either side of them, the width of each vane being preferably almost equal to the distance between the upper and lower walls of the resonator. In a resonator of circular form, Fig. 3, one or more angular movable vanes 7 are arranged each along a chord of the resonator. Specification 579,648 also is referred to.
