Abstract

799,983. Magnetrons. JAKOBSBERGS ELEKTROTEKNISKA FABRIKER AKTIEBOLAG. Aug. 31, 1955 [Sept. 1, 1954], No. 25066/55. Class 39(1). A multi-cavity magnetron is tuned by movement of teeth 7 within a groove 5 at one end of the anode structure, the teeth being mounted on a rotatable support 6. The teeth may be shaped to give a desired frequency variation, e.g. a pulse-shaped or sinusoidal variation, and the number of teeth may equal or be a multiple of the number of anode cavities. The support 6 may be wholly insulating or carry a conducting cylinder to which the teeth are attached, and may be rotated continuously or oscillated. The groove 5 may be nearer to the centre of the anode structure. More than one groove with corresponding teeth may be provided.
