Abstract
716,677. Magnetrons. M-O VALVE CO., Ltd., and WINDSOR, L. R. E. July 15, 1953 [July 15, 1952], No. 17868/52. Class 39(1) In a multi-cavity magnetron in which tuning is effected by a metal slug 4 movable into or out of one of the cavities, the slug is mechanically coupled to a member 6 of magnetic material which is rotatable about a fixed axis under the influence of a magnet 8 disposed outside the envelope of the magnetron, rotation of the member 6 causing it to move axially with consequent movement of the slug 4. The member 6 has offset from the axis, a projection 11, and is biased by gravity into contact with a spiral ramp 12 formed on the end of a fixed member t3. According to the Provisional Specification the . member 6 may be biased by means of a spring.
