840,951. Waveguides. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES Ltd. Sept. 25, 1958, No. 30662/58. Class 40(8). H.F. hollow wave guide :ransmission line for propaga- :ion in circular Hon node comprises a series of thin flat discs 4 having aligned apertures 3 therein spaced from one another by spacers 5 with a uniform spacing such that there are at least five discs per guide wave-length at the highest operating frequency and that the gap between opposing surfaces of adjacent discs is at least ten times the thickness of a disc, the discs extending beyond the peripheries of the apertures therein to the spacers 5 by at least 1.5 times the width of the gap. The discs 4 are of metal and the spacers 5 can be of a metal or insulator.
