Abstract

826,788. Waveguide directional couplers. COLE Ltd., E. K., and GREEN, H. H. H. April 3, 1958 [April 3, 1957], No. 10818/57. Class 40 (8). Ridged waveguides are directionally coupled by a short slot in a common narrow wall, at least one of the ridges in at least one of the guides being reduced in dimensions in the region of the slot. As shown, the waveguides E, H have double ridges and portions of all four ridges are removed in the region of the slot S. A bevel L is formed on the ends of the ridges to improve matching.
