Abstract

578,650. Thermal switches. BELLING & LEE, Ltd., HEATH, C. W., and JONES, K. J. Oct. 3, 1944, No. 18940. [Class 38 (v)] An ambient temperature compensated thermal switch comprises a bimetal element 1 heated by a winding 4 and co-operating at its free end with a strut 6 engaging a recess in e plunger 9, or which bears the compensating bi metal element 8 On increase ir ambient tempera ture, element 8 pushes the plunger 9 and so increases the force required for element 1 to disengage the fixed contact 7, movement of the latter being limited by stops 14, 16.
