Abstract
578,481. Automatic guns. MOLINS, D. W., and MOLINS MACHINE CO., Ltd. June 17, 1943, No. 9792. [Classes 92 (i) and 92 (ii)] Rounds R are fed along receiver guides 102, 106 by a spring-operated presser arm 21, a spring-controlled pivoted pawl 251 on which engages the rounds in advance of its pivot and with its convex surface when the pawl contacts with a stop 123 on the arm. When fresh rounds are inserted in the guides, the arm can be withdrawn by a handle 250, the pawl then stressing a torsion spring and riding over the rounds until it snaps into position behind the last round. During this withdrawal of the pawl, displacement of the rounds is prevented by ,spring catches 253 in the mouth of the receiver. Specifications 18203/96, [Class 92], and 578,477 are referred to.
