485,721. Automatic guns. SCHMEISSER, H. Sept. 6, 1937, No. 24261. Convention date, Oct. 28, 1936. [Class 92 (ii)] Relates to caps for closing the rear end of the breech casing, of the kind in which the cap 2 engages over interrupted threads or collars on the casing 1, a movable member on the cap engaging a recess in the casing to lock the parts after engaging them by a partial rotation. According to the invention, an auxiliary member 3 carried inside the cap engages from within by its part 3a a recess 1b in the casing to lock the cap against rotation. In the form shown, the member 3 is provided with a button 5 by which it is pressed forward against the breech action spring 4 to move the part 3a in the bayonet slot 1b in the casing and permit of a partial rotation of the cap as a whole to effect its removal.
