Abstract
338,309. Frommer, R. von. Oct. 17, 1929. Breech actions, drop-down barrel.-The shaft of the top lever operating the upper and lower locking bolts of a drop-down gun is provided with a separate sleeve with which engages a spring which tends to retain the bolts in the locking position. The top lever 1, Fig. 1, is adapted to receive the square head 4 of a shaft 3, Fig. 2, and is secured thereto by a screw 5. The shaft 3 receives a sleeve 11 having a projection 12 which engages with a notch 14 in the top lever when the parts are assembled in the action-body 21. A second notch 9 in the top lever and a projection 6 on the shaft 3 actuate the locking bolts 8, 7, respectively. The bolts are normally retained in the locking positions by a plunger 17 which is pressed by a spring 16 against a shoulder 18 formed on the sleeve 11. The spring 16 is housed in a casing 25 which is readily removable from the gun.
