Abstract

457,943. Automatic pistols. MAUSERWERKE AKT.-GES., Oberndorf-on-Neckar, Germany. Aug. 20, 1935, Nos. 23401 and 23403. Convention dates, May 6, 1935 and May 13, 1935. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Feb. 21, 1936.] [Class 119] The guiding rod 158 of the spring 126 of the cock is connected to. the magazine retaining catch 151 by a bayonet joint which holds the parts together as one unit for insertion into the grip of the pistol and removal therefrom. The joint comprises lugs 150 on the rod adapted to be inserted through slots 152 in the catch, and after rotation of the rod to fit into grooves 154 in the catch. The catch pivots on an edge 177 on an abutment 156 ; and, under the influence of the spring 126, the nose 181 of the catch is urged into engagement with the magazine 182. The catch has a serrated face 184 flush with the base of the grip of the pistol for operation by a finger, and forms a close fit in the grip to prevent entrance of dirt.
