Abstract

578,392. Shaft couplings. PRECISION DEVELOPMENTS CO., Ltd., OLAH, G., and ROSSZ, L. April 19, 1944, Nos. 7260/44 and 9798/45. [Class 80 (ii)] [Also in Group XXVIII] In a multi-cylinder pump comprising a rotary cylinder block 2, Fig. 1, (see Group XXVIII), mounted about a stationary valve 3 and a track ring 7 rotatably mounted within a stationary track ring 8 eccentrically surrounding the cylinder block, the block 2 and ring 7 may be driven from a shaft 1 at slightly different speeds through separate Oldham-type couplings 4, 18. The driving element of the coupling 4 is fixed to a shaft rotatably mounted in an outer shaft carrying the driving element of the coupling 18, and two gear wheels of different diameters and respectively secured to the other ends of these shafts to engage with suitable pinions on the driving shaft 1. In an improved Oldhamtype antifriction coupling an element 29, Fig. 4, is fixed to the driving shaft 1, an element 20 is fixed to say the track ring 7, an element 21 floats and antifriction rollers 22, 23 are mounted between the floating and the driving and driven elements 29, 20.
