Abstract

577,476. Two-part couplings. SULLAM, S. D. May 1, 1944, No. 8116. [Class 38 (i)] A connector for electric irons and similar appliances comprises a deep bottom portion C containing the sockets B and a shallow cover plate A arranged to slide in tongue and groove connections over the bottom portion. The cover plate is held in position by a projecting ridge D at one side to engage in a slot E in the bottom portion, the opposite arrangement being provided on the other side of the cover and the bottom portion respectively. A portion F<1> of the near wall F of the bottom portion may be adapted to hold a spring for supporting a supply cable, or the cover plate and the bottom portion may grip the cable without a support. A clip H may be provided to lock the cover plate and the bottom portion together. According to the Provisional Specification the cover plate may be in two pieces.
