Abstract

622,051. Two-part couplings. PIOT, L., and TIROUFLET, M. March 6, 1947, No. 6374. Convention date, Nov. 14, 1944. [Class 38 (i)] The body of a plug comprises a housing 1 carrying contacts 9 and a co-operating cover 16 having flats to engage springs 7 secured between the contacts 9 and pins 13 on the housing to clamp cable wires 5 against the contacts. The body parts are joined by tenons 17 and mortises 18 thereon and are secured together by a screw-ring on extensions. 24, 25 of the body parts. The cover 16 has a projection, co-operating with a recess in the housing 1, Fig. 2 (not shown), to grip the cable 3. In a modification (Fig. 4, not shown), the mortise-and-tenon joint is replaced by a slot and co-operating bar.
