Abstract
577,522. Two-part couplings. HARVEY, H. H. May 31, 1944, No. 10485. [Class 38 (i)] A ceiling-rose or like fitting containing a detachable coupling comprises a base 16 closed by a plate 18 that carries the socket member 22 of the coupling, and a plug member 24 attached to flexible leads 14 that fit into the socket and is enclosed by a cap 20 screwing on a flange 38 on the plate 18. The supply leads entering from conduits 32 are secured by grub screws in hollow terminals 50 coaxial with or laterally displaced from the socket contacts 48. Instead of a plug and socket coupling, other types of readily detachable coupling may be used.
