577,469. Emulsions. INTERNATIONAL BITUMEN EMULSIONS, Ltd., MONTGOMERIE, J. A., and ARCHIBALD, P. K. Dec. 2, 1943, No. 20189. [Class 1 (i)] [Also in Group VIII] An aqueous emulsion of a coal tar pitch having a melting point above 50‹C. and a working fluidity at temperatures not below 100‹C. is prepared, e.g., as disclosed in Specification 573,169, using an assistant emulsifier, e.g., 10 per cent. of Trinidad asphalt with 5 per cent. of fatty acid pitch or fatty acid. The emulsion is added to paper pulp and broken before felting. Anti-mycetic properties may be imparted, using an emulsion as disclosed in Specification 577,468.
