[Class 22] [Also in Group VIII] In weather-resistant, composite building boards, a facing sheet is united to the backing by a blend of coal tar pitches having a softening point (Kramer-Sarnow) between 31‹C. and 40‹C. and specified penetration at 0‹C. and 25‹C. The coal tar pitch may be untreated, may be blown or oxidised, or .may be the material known as " pitch distillate" which is obtained in the distillation of coal tar pitch, and is the fraction distilling at a temperature above 330‹C. The blend may consist of 50-70 parts by weight of a pitch distillate having a softening point between 10‹-20‹C. and 50-30 parts of a soft medium pitch softening between 70‹ and 80‹C. Small amounts of coal tar, linseed oil, stearin pitch, or china clay may be added.
